Your wellness matters to God—body, mind, and spirit.

Hi, I’m Deborah Medari, DNP.

I’m an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner and the founder of Transformed Psychiatric Wellness, LLC, a Christ-centered mental health practice rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and spiritual wisdom. I believe the deepest healing happens when we care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and when we intentionally invite the Holy Spirit into the process.

To me, mental health care is sacred work. It’s not just about symptom management; it’s about restoration. It’s about coming alongside people who love God but are still struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional exhaustion—and offering them a safe space to be seen, heard, and truly helped. In every session, I seek God’s guidance and wisdom, trusting Him to reveal the root causes of distress and to lead both me and my patients toward healing that lasts.

My approach blends the best of modern psychiatry and holistic wellness, grounded in faith and personalized to each individual. Whether we’re working through trauma, exploring lifestyle changes, or discussing medication options, my goal is to support you in experiencing the fullness of life that God intended—where peace, joy, and self-control are not just spiritual ideals, but lived realities.

My Story

A woman holding a smiling young girl and a sleeping newborn baby. The girl is wearing a pink outfit, and the baby is in a pink onesie and white hat. They are sitting indoors near a window.

I’ve been in the mental health field in some form since 1995, but my calling to this work runs deeper than just credentials or career steps. It’s personal. I’ve experienced trauma and loss. I’ve wrestled with anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm while trying to be the strong one for everyone else. I know what it’s like to love God deeply, yet still feel stuck in patterns that don’t match the freedom we’re promised.

Early in my career, I trained as a marriage and family therapist at Oral Roberts University, where I learned the power of integrating clinical wisdom with faith. I later pursued nursing, then earned my doctorate as a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I wanted to offer care that addresses the whole person—biologically, psychologically, and spiritually. Along the way, I worked with clients across the lifespan, from adolescents in group homes to seniors in nursing facilities, and spent time as a charge nurse in a behavioral health crisis center. I’ve also taught psychiatric nursing at the university level, led clinical rotations, and completed advanced training in integrative psychiatry through Dream Practice Academy.

But the work I do today is especially for those who feel stuck in the middle. Maybe you’ve prayed for healing, but the symptoms haven’t lifted. Maybe you’ve been to therapy, but still don’t feel free. Maybe you’ve tried medication, but you don’t want that to be the only option. That’s where I come in.

I believe medication can be life-changing—but it should never be the only tool. I offer a range of integrative treatment options including faith-based psychotherapy, mind-body medicine, plant-based and natural therapies, lifestyle and nutrition support, and more. My approach is personalized and collaborative. We’ll get to the root of what’s going on—biologically, emotionally, and spiritually—and create a plan that aligns with your values and goals.

Outside of my practice, I’m a wife of 28 years, a mother of four, and a “Mimi” to two beautiful granddaughters. I live in the countryside on 30 acres in Missouri with a lively crew of people and pets—including my adult children, aging parents, and a rotating cast of dogs and cats. I’m deeply rooted in my faith and have spent over 30 years in ministry, leading worship and teaching. I love traveling (especially to the ocean), watching movies, reading, and fishing in our pond. I also know firsthand what it means to be part of the “sandwich generation,” caring for both grown children and elderly parents, and the toll that can take on your spirit.

If you’re looking for a provider who will:

  • Truly listen to you

  • Treat you with dignity and compassion

  • Offer treatment that gets to the root of the problem

  • And consider medication an option—not the only option—

    You’re in the right place.

The girls wear matching light-colored dresses with red accents in their hair. A mantel with various photos and decorations is in the background.

God works through prayer and Prozac. Through scripture and supplements. Through pastors and prescribers. Healing can be holy and integrative.

Faith and psychiatry are not at odds. You don’t have to choose between having faith and getting help.
