Hi, I’m Deborah Medari, DNP.

I’m an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner who believes true healing happens when we address the mind, body, and spirit—inviting the Holy Spirit into the process every step of the way.

My journey into psychiatry began through years of ministry, motherhood, and personal healing. I first trained as a marriage and family therapist, then became a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I saw how deeply biology, trauma, and faith all intersect in mental health. I’ve experienced loss and am a survivor of trauma myself, which gives me deep compassion for those carrying unseen burdens. After witnessing stigma in both the church and the medical world, I felt called to create a space where Christians could receive compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care without having to separate their faith from their healing.

Do you…

  •  Feel like you’ve tried everything—prayer, scripture, even therapy—but still struggle with anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm?

  • Wonder why the fruit of the Spirit feels out of reach, no matter how hard you try?

  •  Carry invisible burdens while leading, caregiving, or holding your family together—and feel like no one really sees you?

You’re not alone. And you don’t have to keep doing this on your own.

I Believe…

  • I believe that true healing comes from the Holy Spirit. He sees what’s really going on beneath the surface—beyond symptoms, beyond words—and He alone knows the depths of each person’s heart. I trust that when I ask God for wisdom, He will give it, just as He promised.

  • I believe it is God’s will for every believer to walk in the victory that has already been won for them. But I also recognize that we have a spiritual enemy who actively works to keep us discouraged, bound, and broken.

  • I believe that God heals in many ways—through miraculous divine intervention and through the wisdom found in traditional medicine. I see mental illness as a physical condition, like diabetes, cancer, or cardiovascular disease. But I also believe it carries emotional and spiritual dimensions that are just as important to address.

Healing is most powerful when all three aspects—body, mind, and spirit—are cared for together. That’s why I use integrative therapies that are not only evidence-based, but also aligned with each client’s faith and belief system.

Renew Your Mind

Romans 12:2 NIV

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

A reminder that change is possible, healing is real, and transformation begins within.

Ministry Leaders, Pastors, Clergy

You’re called to carry the burdens of others—but who carries yours? Behind the sermons, the counseling, and the leadership, there’s often exhaustion, anxiety, and a deep sense of isolation. You may feel pressure to “hold it all together,” even while struggling privately with depression, burnout, or trauma. It’s hard to admit you're not okay when people look to you for spiritual strength. I provide a confidential, grace-filled space where you can be human—no pressure, no judgment. You don’t have to suffer silently. You deserve support, too.

Individuals in Crisis of Faith

You may feel disconnected from God, unsure of His presence, or confused about what you believe. Perhaps you’ve prayed for healing and feel ashamed that you’re still struggling. Maybe you've walked away from church altogether, but something in you is still searching. If you're wrestling with doubt, disappointment, or spiritual disillusionment, you're not alone—and you're not a bad Christian. I offer a safe place to process your faith and your pain, without pressure to “fix” anything too quickly. We’ll walk through it together, with honesty, curiosity, and compassion.

Caregivers

You spend your days giving to others—children, aging parents, spouses, congregants—but when was the last time someone cared for you? Caregivers often live in a cycle of burnout, guilt, and emotional depletion. You may feel overlooked, resentful, or spiritually dry, but keep pushing through because others need you. I help caregivers restore their emotional and spiritual well-being, create boundaries without shame, and rediscover who they are outside of their role. You deserve care, too.

Survivors of Abuse

The wounds of abuse go deep. You may be carrying shame, fear, or intrusive memories, even long after the events occurred. Trust feels fragile—especially if your abuser was someone who claimed to follow God. You might be asking why healing is taking so long, or wondering if you’re still broken. I understand trauma personally and professionally. In our work, we go at your pace. You’ll have a compassionate, faith-informed space to reclaim your story, your identity, and your safety—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Couples

You love each other—but communication feels strained, conflict repeats, and emotional intimacy is fading. You might feel like you’re failing at having a “godly marriage,” especially if you’ve already tried prayer, counseling, or church support. I work with couples to rebuild connection, heal past hurts, and find alignment in purpose, parenting, and faith. Whether you’re in crisis or just feeling distant, there is hope for restoration, grace, and renewal in your relationship.

Families

Mental health doesn’t just affect individuals—it impacts the whole family. When one member is struggling, everyone feels it. Tension grows. Communication breaks down. Maybe family prayer feels forced or nonexistent. You may be navigating a child or teen’s mental health needs and feel helpless, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do next. I help families break generational patterns, support one another with understanding, and create a peaceful, spiritually rooted home. Healing can happen in your family—together.

Conditions I Treat

Anxiety & Depression

You’ve prayed for peace. You’ve clung to joy. But the anxiety won’t let you rest, and the heaviness just won’t lift. I help Christian individuals uncover the biological, emotional, and spiritual roots of their depression and anxiety using a personalized plan that integrates therapy, mind-body practices, nutrition, and—when appropriate—medication.

Trauma & PTSD

Memories from the past may still feel raw, confusing, or intrusive. You’ve forgiven, but the pain remains. As a survivor myself, I approach trauma with deep compassion, blending faith-based therapy, nervous system regulation, and gentle, integrative tools to help you heal in both body and spirit.

Impulse Control & Addictive Behaviors

Whether it’s food, substances, or other behaviors, the cycle of regret and shame can feel endless. I help clients understand the brain-body connection behind impulsivity and addiction, while also exploring the spiritual wounds that often feed these patterns. You’ll receive real tools for lasting change—not just quick fixes.

Burnout in Ministry & Caregiving

You’re the one everyone leans on—but who’s there for you? I support pastors, ministry leaders, and caregivers who feel emotionally and spiritually drained. We’ll create space for your healing, help you reconnect with God, and build rhythms of rest that sustain your calling—not just survive it.

Eating Disorders & Body Image

You want to honor your body, but food and self-image have become a battlefield. I offer an approach that blends gentle nutrition support, trauma-informed care, and Christian values—so you can walk in freedom, dignity, and self-control, without shame.

Faith & Mental Health

You’ve felt the stigma. Maybe you’ve even been told your symptoms were a spiritual failure. I believe your mental health struggle is not a sign of weak faith. I welcome God into every session and walk with you to restore what’s been broken—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

My Approach

I take a holistic, Spirit-led approach to mental health—one that honors your faith, your story, and your whole person. Together, we’ll look at what’s happening biologically, emotionally, and spiritually, and build a treatment plan that aligns with your values and goals for healing.

Spirit-Mind-Body Medicine

Mental illness is not a faith failure. Healing does not mean you’re weak—it means you’re willing to grow.

Let this be the place where shame ends and freedom begins.
